Copywriting

I love working with teams who love their brand/product. There’s no replacement for good, clever copy that still performs well in search, and I’ve enjoyed auditing, brainstorming and working on various website pages, as well as customer newsletters.

I build full-funnel content workflows that capture existing demand, grow authority and fill pipelines. That means original research, productled content, topic clusters and conversion-oriented copy, with search performance built in from the start.

AND ON THE SIDE

Features & personal writing

I’ve lived away from “home home” and made Germany my home for 9 years. I speak (in theory) 4 languages and am a serious culture enthusiast. I love to write when nobody’s watching — I’ve published features and short articles on cultural topics, from sports to expat living and culture shocks, to give us something to digest beyond the hard-hitting headlines.

ME, MYSELF AND AI

“A fast car isn’t rare. But a good driver is.”

The benefits of AI are real and I use them. But taking shortcuts to churn out overoptimised long-form content and new pages that cover every viable prompt doesn’t make the sales cycle shorter. Shallow messaging, listicles and comparison pages won’t close deals forever. You’ve got to invest time and attention into the right messaging to generate sustained trust and business.

I like AI, I like learning, I like growing — I already use the tools and have dabbled in some vibe-coding — but I will leave them in the ideation, automation and QA process and keep my creativity and personal output powerful and unique. Fast is easy; it’s everywhere. Skilled is rare. Plus, I enjoy what I do and continue to see results, so why would I outsource it?

Frequently asked

Do you care about rankings?

I do care about rankings – but only as a health indicator, not a strategy. When I started my SEO career, rankings were how I measured my individual performance. It didn’t take me long to realise that building a strategy on them alone is short-sighted and misses the point. What I actually care about is organic traffic from engaged, converting audiences – whether content is attracting the right people, building trust and moving them closer to a decision.

Are you a GEO expert?

I shot myself in the foot by deciding to include this in my FAQs, but I’m going to roll with it. Generative engine optimisation (GEO) is still being defined in real time, and the best we can all do as search practitioners is understand how we can still connect with customers. But since the correlation between good SEO and GEO is currently strong, and my work is still winning AI citations, I have every confidence that my SEO approach (with the right adjustments) is still more than relevant in the era of AI search.

Do you work only in English?

Based in Hamburg and working primarily with international brands, English is my native language and primary output. It’s where my experience is. However, I have frequently worked on German-language projects, such as articles, newsletters, case studies and content strategy.

Do you also do public speaking?

Yes, when I summon up the confidence to do so! I spoke at brightonSEO in 2025 on multi-location business optimisation – you can watch my talk and attempt at stand-up comedy on YouTube. Public speaking doesn’t come naturally to me, but I am passionate about the things I speak about, which makes it all worth my while.

Can’t AI do this kind of work?

Yes, AI can do it for you; I’ve seen it happen in many environments. But I’ve also seen it fail to deliver a sustainable strategy. What 100% AI output looks like: more stale articles, more new URLs competing with each other, blogs unwisely targeting the same keywords as product pages and vice versa, shallow brand positioning and flattened differentiation. The risks are significant if you don’t have a solid grounding in editorial and SEO best practices. Your delegation, description (prompt), discernment and diligence define just how strong your AI output is.
